Artist Statement
The emotional tone juxtaposes nostalgia with progress, creating a dynamic tension. Utilizing a palette of burnt orange, dark red, charcoal, and gold evokes warmth and depth, suggesting both fading memories and emerging visions. The split horizontal layout allows for a stark contrast between the heavy, grounded colors on the bottom half, representing nostalgia's weight, and lighter, more chaotic hues above, symbolizing progress and uncertainty. The interplay of structured, maze-like patterns in the lower section colliding with noise-like disruptions in the upper half embodies the push and pull between these emotions, suggesting a continuous cycle of rise and fall amidst a constant struggle for balance. Broken pixels introduce an element of imperfection, further enriching the narrative of conflict and transition.
