Artist Statement
This artwork explores the tension between vulnerability and strength through a dynamic interplay of colors and patterns. The palette consists of dark violet, black, soft gold, and pale green to evoke feelings of fear and hope. The strong contrast of the heavy dark shades against lighter accents captures the essence of hard edges versus soft breaks, creating a dance of solid islands amidst flowing channels. The collision occurs prominently in the center, with black and dark violet forming a protective barrier, while lighter colors hint at vulnerability and exposure. This arrangement suggests a narrative of connection and alienation, portraying how strength can sometimes shield against the world, yet also isolate. The broken pixels introduce an element of disruption, symbolizing the flaws and scars that come from navigating between these emotional extremes.
