Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional dichotomy of vulnerability and strength through the use of a split vertical layout. The left side portrays vulnerability with pale, lighter colors that intermingle, symbolizing exposure and fragility, while the right side uses deeper, saturated tones to create an aura of strength and stability. The colors chosen from the quiet pressure palette blend soft off-white and faint peach against the more robust dark navy and compressed red. The contrasting textures exemplify the pull between being secure and feeling compromised. Notably, the center of the artwork disrupts the flow where these colors collide—showcasing the tension that exists between these two emotional states. Broken pixel placements create intentional imperfections, suggesting that even strength can harbor vulnerabilities, while glimpses of light reveal shadows and depth beneath the surface.
