Artist Statement
This composition embodies the tension between safety and exposure through contrasting color placements. The palette reflects vulnerability and warmth, using soft greens and warm browns to convey the idea of shelter, while cold whites and pale shades represent exposure. The main collision occurs in the center, where dense, darker patterns of safety interact with lighter, more exposed patterns, creating a visual echo that captures the essence of pressure versus release. The zigzag flow adds to the sense of dynamic tension, while the negative space allows for breathing room amidst the density.
