Artist Statement
This artwork encapsulates the emotional struggle between awe and terror through an interplay of stark contrasts and textures. The palette is dominated by deep grays and vibrant accents of pink and red, symbolizing conflict: the dark grays establish a weighty and oppressive atmosphere, while the bright colors offer moments of surprising brilliance, representing awe amidst terror. The central structure's soft edges give way to fragmented patterns, allowing a sense of instability, as if memories are breaking apart. The flow from the bottom to the top suggests a rising tension, while intentional negative space preserves a haunting silence that highlights the emotional collision of the piece.
