Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional tug-of-war between control and surrender. The dense center, using a palette that juxtaposes warm and cool colors, represents the overwhelming forces of pressure, while the soft edges hint at a gentle yielding. The collision is evident in the central 4x4 area where colors overlap and burst outward, suggesting an overflow that the borders cannot contain. The chosen palette, featuring shades that evoke intimacy and distance (rose clay, cool blue, etc.), creates depth and invites the viewer to explore the emotional landscape further.
