Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional duality of softness and severity through the use of contrasting light and dark colors. The chosen palette of warm whites, powder pinks, and deep blacks mirrors feelings of gentleness colliding with starkness, eliciting a sense of tension. The inner 4x4 square created with soft, feathered patterns contrasts with the outer edges, which adopt sharp echoes of severity. The central point acts as a visual pulse mark, drawing the eye and reflecting the conflict between these emotions. The intentionally placed breaks in pixel continuity enhance the sense of imperfection, embodying the struggle between guilt and forgiveness. Negative space encompasses the tension, allowing for moments of quiet among the chaos, thus completing the emotional journey.
