Artist Statement
This artwork responds to the emotional contrasts of loneliness and connection. The selected palette, 'broken_memory', utilizes muted tones of sepia, tan, and gray to evoke a sense of nostalgia and melancholy. The central part features a denser cluster of colors, suggesting a connection that feels both vibrant and oppressive, while the edges display spaciousness, mirroring the loneliness felt by the isolated central form. The arrangement of pixels in a zigzag flow captures the oscillation between hope and despair, creating a rhythm that resonates with both the concept of a rising signal and the broader themes of hidden vs. exposed emotions. Interruption occurs primarily where brighter colors clash against the softer tones, forming a dynamic tension that invites the viewer to consider the push and pull of human experience.
