Artist Statement
The emotional tone derived from the seed reflects a constant struggle between defiance and submission, positioned within an overarching narrative of tension. The chosen palette of muted dusty grays, a vibrant compressed red for emphasis, dark navy for depth, and faint peach for warmth captures this interplay. In the center, represented by a dense collection of angular pixel patterns, asserts defiance, symbolized by the upward block-like shapes, while the surrounding edges present a grid-like softness signaling submission. This collision creates a visual tension where the saturation of red disrupts the cooler, more subdued tones at the edges, suggesting a struggle between chaos and calm, as if sparking from the corners aiming to invade the centered force. This arrangement allows for interpretation of the emotional complexities without literal representation, focusing instead on the conveyed interaction of feelings through color and structure.
