Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional dichotomy of nostalgia and progress through contrasting palettes and arrangements. The selected colors—deep reds, stark blacks, soft blues, and whites—represent intense emotional states, with red embodying rage alongside weighty black signifying the past. The top half features a sharp transition from dark to light using layered patterns that evoke memories colliding with the freshness of progress. The arrangement mimics a gradual drip effect, reflecting the descent of time and emotion, while broken pixels introduce imperfections symbolizing the struggle between holding on and moving forward. The contrast lies in the clash of the black tones against the soothing blue, fostering a feeling of unresolved tension and the weight of history breaking through moments of calming progress.
