Artist Statement
This artwork explores the dichotomy between fear and hope through a stark color palette. The use of black and dark violet creates a foundation of fear, while accents of soft gold and pale green represent glimmers of hope. The sharp edges contrast with softer areas, mirroring the tension between the two emotions. The center is less saturated, reflecting the 'empty center' associated with fear, while the outer pixels, applying the split-screen pattern of hope, suggest the 'rising signal' amidst darkness. Asymmetry and broken pixels enhance feelings of unrest, portraying the instability inherent in this emotional battle.
