Artist Statement
The emotional tone captures the tension between defiance and submission, with the bright colors of defiance clashing against softer tones of submission. The chosen palette of powder pink, warm white, carbon black, steel gray, and sharp crimson reflects a juxtaposition of softness and severity. The main contrast happens centrally, where bright crimson and black pulse against muted pink and gray, forming an inward spiral that suggests a protective yet chaotic barrier. Broken pixels introduce intentional disruptions throughout, emphasizing vulnerability while maintaining an overall abstract cohesion.
