Artist Statement
This composition captures the emotional struggle between desire and restraint through a contrasting palette of saturated and muted tones. The dominant red oxide and the muted cream symbolize the pull of longing against the pressure of boundary. The central collision of diagonal stripes and scars plays on the themes of reach and limitation, encapsulating the essence of hunger and reluctance. The sealed edges enhance the feeling of entrapment, while broken pixels serve as jagged reminders of the imperfections inherent in desire.
