Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional dichotomy between rage and calm through sharp contrasts and a muted overall tone peppered with bright accents. The dominant use of dark shades symbolizes containment and quietude, while the scattered bright reds create sparks of intensity that disrupt the calm. The layout allows the focus to be on the bright patches, reminiscent of fleeting moments of anger breaking through tranquility, with a subtle grid pattern representing calmness trying to underpin the chaos. The broken pixels serve as imperfections, representing the struggle between these emotions.
