Artist Statement
The composition expresses the emotional conflict of relief and dread through a tension between light and dark. The palette of burnt orange, dark red, charcoal, and gold echoes the warmth of relief contrasted by the heaviness of dread. The arrangement creates an asymmetrical balance; the warm colors symbolize moments of calm and relief against the dense, dark blocks representing dread. The broken pixels introduce a sense of imperfection, aligning with the theme of 'broken vs whole'. The collision occurs predominantly in the central lower section, with lighter accents emerging from the shadows, creating a visual narrative of struggle and resolution.
