Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional tension of relief and dread. The color palette balances dark storm gray and near black with lighter soft sky and faded gold tones. The arrangement of colors allows for a primarily heavy cluster of darker tones, suggesting dread, while the golden and soft tones emerge toward the outer edges to symbolize relief and a slow release. The central point of contrast occurs where the dark tones break outward, creating an impactful flow that mimics chaos intertwining with order, represented by the negative space that echoes around the edges. The broken pixels sporadically interrupt the pattern, adding layers of imperfection and highlighting the emotional collision between the two states.
