Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional tension between loneliness and connection through contrasting dense and sparse color placements. The top half, representing loneliness, utilizes a pattern of chaotic noise with dark hues, creating a sense of isolation. The bottom half symbolizes connection with warm burnt oranges and golds, suggesting a surface tension of warmth and intimacy. The palette, inspired by 'ancient fire', plays on the elemental clash between darkness and warmth. The primary collision unfolds as burnt orange accents intermittently break through a muted charcoal and dark red landscape, illustrating the journey from isolation to warmth. Each row is uniquely distorted by the incorporation of broken pixels, enhancing the notion of imperfection inherent in human experience.
