Artist Statement
This artwork encapsulates the emotional struggle between longing and resolve through a juxtaposition of warm and cool tones. The primary palette of burnt orange and dark red suggests intense feelings of yearning, while soft gold and charcoal colors create a boundary that signifies resolve. The exterior borders of the square are filled with deeper tones, creating a stark frame, while the inner 4x4 area utilizes a layering of stripes and ripples to represent a chaotic interplay within those emotions, showing moments of collision against the organized structure of the outer frame. The use of broken pixels introduces intentional disruptions, embodying the imperfect nature of emotional experiences and relationships.
