Artist Statement
This artwork explores the tension between longing and resolve, represented through a palette aimed at evoking feelings of melancholy wonder. The colors, primarily rain blue and muted plum, highlight the contrast where the longing (expressed through radial patterns) connects with the resolve (represented by sharp, 'toothy' shapes). The central area features denser color clusters, resembling an island, while the space around it is calmer and quieter, symbolizing the vastness of the emotions at play. Broken pixels are intentionally placed to disrupt the flow, echoing the damage and repair theme.
