Artist Statement
The emotional tone revolves around the tension between envy and gratitude. I used a palette of electric blue, magenta, lime, and black to symbolize extremes of emotion—coolness versus warmth. The contrast lies in the zigzag pattern on one side (representing envy) that disrupts the smooth, raindrop-like patterns on the other (symbolizing gratitude). The broken pixels scattered throughout the canvas introduce imperfections, echoing the chaotic feelings of broken mirrors and weighty noise. This arrangement captures the interplay of structured versus disrupted emotions, creating a dynamic visual that reflects the conflicts within the seed.
