Artist Statement
This composition embodies the tension between clarity and interference, drawing on a 'signal vs noise' motif. The chosen palette, featuring dark navy and black, represents the characteristic noise with its deep, static-like hues. The dim cyan and single white colors serve as the 'signals', guiding the eye through 'flame' patterns that flicker through the noise. The density is disrupted by 'broken pixels', simulating the effect of interference while allowing the pulse of color to maintain a readable rhythm. The main collision of colors occurs centrally, where the bright accents of dim cyan and white disrupt the darker areas, symbolizing a 'pulse' breaking through the cacophony.
