Artist Statement
The emotional tone reflects a tension between frail signals and chaotic noise, symbolizing the struggle for clarity amidst interference. The palette of navy, black, and dim cyan creates a juxtaposition of dark, oppressive fields (representing noise) against a few bright clusters symbolizing the fleeting nature of signals. The main contrast lies in a bright cluster of light colors at the center, representing a soft pulse trying to break through the dense static that surrounds it, embodying 'last light' that perseveres. The collision happens where the bright signals, represented by white hues, clash against the rich, dark colors in a way that disrupts their serenity, echoing a sense of memory versus erasure. Broken pixels introduce imperfections, representing scattered remnants of clarity in a noise-filled environment.
