Artist Statement
This piece captures the emotional struggle between joy and grief using contrasting colors and patterns. The palette intertwines warm tones of yellow and orange, representing joy, with muted blue and purple that denote grief. The left side is weighted with darker, grief-laden colors that have a crosshatch pattern, while the right features lighter circles symbolizing joy, creating an 'echo' effect. The broken pixels disrupt the symmetry, reflecting the theme of betrayal inherent in the seed, while negative space ensures the emotions resonate without overwhelming the frame.
