Artist Statement
This work embodies the emotional dichotomy of loneliness versus connection, characterized by the contrast between deep black and soft gold. The use of dark violet creates tension, referencing the weight of solitude, while the pale green accents suggest moments of connection, like flickers of hope amidst the darkness. The layout follows an empty room paradigm, with a significant amount of negative space juxtaposed against concentrated color clusters that suggest memories and transient emotions. The distribution of color reveals a subtle rhythm of light and heavy moments, symbolizing the conflict between isolation and the desire for connection. The broken pixels introduce an element of imperfection, resonating with the theme of fragmented memories, while the patterns echo the feeling of stripes—both conveying structure and disconnect. Each pixel placement serves as a deliberate reflection of the emotional landscape captured in the seed.
