Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional dichotomy of defiance and submission. The palette, consisting of lime, black, electric blue, and magenta, evokes a vibrant tension between the boldness of defiance (lime and electric blue) and the softness of submission (black and magenta). The main collision occurs at the center, where the bright lime forms a halo, representing protective defiance, while softer patchwork patterns in magenta signify submission enveloping it. Throughout the piece, broken pixels introduce intentional disruptions, embodying the scars of conflict. This arrangement captures the struggle of opposing forces, illustrated through color and abstract placement.
