Artist Statement
The emotional tone of this piece reflects a struggle between dread and relief, where dark hues dominate but are punctuated by bright accents to create tension. The selected palette of pale mint, soft sky, storm gray, near black, and faded gold evokes a spectrum of feelings, from a heavy, oppressive presence to fleeting moments of lightness. The collision occurs predominantly at the center, where dark and light colors interact, aligning with the tension of ‘wound’ from the seed, suggesting both pain and healing. The irregular broken pixels introduce imperfection, mirroring the disruption of that balance between relief and dread, emphasizing a chaotic yet structured flow as it evolves asymmetrically through the grid.
