Artist Statement
This piece embodies the tumultuous feelings of pressure, quiet, and rhythm within a framework of pride and shame. The upper rows, representing pride, utilize warm hues of pink and red, creating a sense of vibrancy and kinetic energy. In contrast, the lower rows adopt the cooler, muted tones of gray and dark maroon to symbolize shame, evoking depth and introspection. The zigzag flow in the layout promotes a rhythmic tension where the colors collide, suggesting an unresolved interplay between heightened emotion and subdued reflection. Broken pixels introduce an element of disruption, capturing the essence of fragmented feelings.
