Artist Statement
The emotional tone embodies the constant tension between vulnerability and stability. The chosen palette of soft greens and warm browns juxtaposes safety and exposure, with the light and muted colors creating a gentle warmth alongside the cooler tones that signify exposure. The main contrast occurs in the center, which is the pale skin tone representing vulnerability, encircled by darker, richer browns and greens as protective barriers. This layout, inspired by a halo, implies that while there is openness, the surrounding colors act as a frame or shelter, emphasizing the emotional struggle of seeking protection amidst exposure.
