Artist Statement
This piece reflects the emotional tones of loneliness and connection, juxtaposing negative space with densely packed colors. The chosen palette of muted sepia and gray resonates with nostalgia and memory, while hints of faded blue suggest hope and connection. The arrangement shifts from lighter colors at the top to deeper tones below, creating a visual ascent that embodies yearning. The contrast stems from the left-weighted design, where thick color clusters symbolize the weight of lost connections, interrupting the lighter, hopeful hints of connection scattered throughout. Broken pixels are introduced to signify the imperfections of memory and the idea of 'broken_dots,' ensuring at least 10% negative space to amplify the feelings of emptiness and longing.
