Artist Statement
The emotional tone of 'envy vs gratitude' creates a dynamic tension, which I reflected in the color palette of deep maroon, pink, gray, and red. The primary contrast is between the central placement of vibrant colors that signify hope (gratefulness) and surrounding muted tones evoking envy. This creates a push-pull feeling as the rising pixels suggest an ascent against an empty or noise-filled backdrop. The patterns mimic the organic conflict between gratitude (linear, structured) and envy (radial turbulence), while the broken pixels ensure the imperfection aligns with the conflicts present in the seed.
