Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional dialogue between fear and hope. The palette of dark hues represents fear—black and dark violet provide depth, while soft gold and pale green suggest glimmers of hope. The top half represents fear with jagged, darker colors that encapsulate a looming presence, while the bottom half features rising, stair-like patterns that suggest an upward flow, embodying hope. The interaction between the dark upper and lighter lower halves creates a visual collision, emphasizing the contrast of light against weight and the push/pull dynamics of emotion. The arrangement, split horizontally, echoes the battle between opposing emotions as they coexist within the confines of this abstract square.
