Artist Statement
The composition reflects the emotional tension between connection and loneliness. Using a palette of stark contrasts—deep reds juxtaposed with clean whites and soft blues—illustrates the push and pull of conflicting emotions. The outer layer, rich in dark colors, conveys a sense of pressure and isolation, while the inner 4x4 square uses whites and pale blues to suggest moments of connection and calm. The placement creates a dynamic collision, with darker colors encroaching upon lighter areas, illustrating the struggle between the two emotional states. Broken pixels introduce subtle imperfections, enhancing the feeling of tension.
