Artist Statement

The emotional tone reflects the tension between relief and dread. The color palette transitions from heavy, dark tones at the top, representing dread (storm gray, near black) to softer, lighter colors below, symbolizing a sense of release (pale mint, soft sky). The main collision occurs at the center, where the dense, lattice-patterned dread clashes with the fault-line patterned relief, creating a visually compelling narrative of pressure yielding to freedom. The arrangement creates a diagonal flow, emphasizing movement from darkness to light, while broken pixels introduce imperfections that echo the concept of ancient fire, representing the remnants of chaos and the building of new structure.
