Artist Statement
This abstract composition captures the emotional tension between softness and severity, using a palette reflective of this duality. The warm whites and powder pinks bleed into sharp crimson and deep black, creating a dialogue of light vs dark across the grid. Central clusters of darker colors contrast with open spaces, suggesting both weight and release. The layout features a near-complete border where breaks allow tension to 'leak' out, embodying the openness of a gate. The resulting pattern feels like a counterclockwise spiral, drawing the eye inwards while also emphasizing the pulsing interruptions of the color marks.
