Artist Statement
This piece embodies the tension between quietude and pressure, using a palette of muted off-white, dust gray, and faint peach to convey calmness against the starkness of compressed red and dark navy. The upper half is dominated by ‘quiet’ colors suggesting a soft, serene presence, while the lower half bursts with ‘pressure’ tones, creating a collision that evokes an emotional struggle. The arrangement follows a split horizontal layout to emphasize the conflict between these two emotional states, with the stark contrast positioned along the center line symbolizing the tension and release where the emotions intersect.
