Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional clash between defiance and submission through a palette of warm yellows and cool deep blues. The stripes representing defiance contrast sharply with the flame patterns depicting submission, creating a visual tension across the canvas. The primary contrast occurs in the central area, where the warmer colors collide against the cooler tones. This dynamic suggests a narrative of emotional struggle, rhythm, and eventual release. Broken pixels are scattered to signify imperfection and the unpredictable nature of feelings, while maintaining negative space for breathing room amidst the chaos.
