Artist Statement
This composition explores the tension between softness and severity through a palette of warm whites and deep blacks. The dominant powder pink represents softness, occupying approximately 65% of the square, while the carbon black introduces a stark contrast that brings gravity and severity into focus. The layout is structured in a stacked manner, allowing for emotional strata that shift in temperature across the grid. The collision occurs centrally, where the softer hues abruptly meet the harsher edges, creating a moment of tension that embodies the emotional dichotomy presented in the seed. Broken pixels added to the edges serve as intentional disruptions, enhancing the experience of memory and motion through texture and imperfection.
