Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional tension between emptiness and desire, established through contrasting color blocks. The chosen palette of red (associated with desire) and black, coupled with cool pale blue and white (denoting emptiness) crafts a dialogue between warmth and coolness. The left side of the artwork emphasizes desire with a maze-like maze pattern, inviting a sense of complexity and yearning, while the right side uses a dot pattern reflective of emptiness, offering calmness and spaciousness. There are deliberate collusions of muted signals with sharp interruptions of brightness, particularly in the transition zones which echo the rise and fall featured in the seed. Each color placement suggests both a pulse of life and the void, interweaving complexity and simplicity, ultimately portraying an abstract narrative of longing and solitude.
