Artist Statement
The emotional tone reflects a battle between trust and suspicion, represented through contrasting colors in the selected palette of red, pale blue, white, and black. The top half portrays trust with softer, more muted hues, while the bottom half expresses suspicion through sharper, more aggressive contrasts. The jagged edges emphasize disruption, echoing the tension of colliding emotions. Negative space is achieved by leaving areas devoid of color, allowing the vibrant interactions in the central pixels to resonate more powerfully against this void. The crown as the shape seed contributes to a sense of layered density, similar to the weight of conflicting feelings, while broken pixels add an element of imperfection, enhancing the emotional complexity of the piece.
