Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional tension between rage and calm through contrasting color palettes. The left half, embodying rage, uses deep reds and blacks to create a jagged ladder pattern that feels explosive and compressed. Conversely, the right half embraces calm, using soft pale blues and whites in smooth channels that suggest serenity and even breathing. The collision occurs centrally, where the patterns meet, symbolizing the struggle between overwhelming chaos and the desire for containment. Broken pixels are scattered throughout to represent imperfections and disruptions, echoing the theme of machine emotion.
