Artist Statement
This composition embodies the tension between joy and grief by employing a palette of warm yellows and oranges against cool muted purples and deep blues. The warm tones represent joy, radiating energy, while the cooler colors evoke a sense of heaviness associated with grief. The left side ascends with brighter, more saturated colors, whereas the right side descends into more subdued tones, creating a juxtaposition that captures the emotional flow from uplift to heaviness. The 'mirror_broken' layout allows for an almost symmetrical representation with intentional pixel displacements, creating unexpected clashes that echo the chaos within emotional experiences. The jagged edges suggest burned intervals, enhancing the complexity of feeling, making it resonate as an abstract narrative without direct representation.
