Artist Statement
This piece encapsulates the playful yet turbulent dance between joy and grief. The warm yellows and oranges suggest sparks of joy, while the deep blues and muted purples evoke a sense of sadness. The contrast lies in the alternating patterns: joy bursts through in crack-like, bright strokes against a maze of grief that contains dense, subdued areas. The layout follows a central filled square, surrounded by pressure points and open spaces, creating tension between density and emptiness. The broken pixels enhance imperfection, reflecting the rawness of emotions.
