Artist Statement
This piece captures the emotional tug-of-war between panic and control. The selected palette of sepia, tan, dust gray, and faded blue evokes a sense of memory tinged with nostalgia and instability. The dominant darker elements create a claustrophobic feel, while lighter tones introduce moments of potential release. The flow is diagonal, guiding the eye through a landscape of tension where clusters of color collide, suggesting the spark of emotion against a backdrop of fractured calm. Central patterns emerge to symbolize the arrow, yet remain abstract, allowing interpretation of movement towards or away from chaos.
