Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the tension between quietude and pressure through dense clusters of muted colors contrasted with sharp accents. The top four rows represent quiet, characterized by soft, faded hues creating an embers-like atmosphere, where subtle variations suggest calmness. The bottom four rows symbolize pressure, illustrating a hinge pattern with darker, bolder colors, emphasizing a sense of encroaching weight. The primary collision occurs midway, where the two contrasting halves engage in a dialogue of tension and softness, inviting contemplation of their emotional interplay. The seed's focus on contrast and conflict inspired a layered grid that evokes both despair and serenity, leading to an abstract expression of battling forces.
