Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional dichotomy of vulnerability and strength, using a palette that oscillates between deep navy and soft dim cyan to evoke feelings of both tension and calm. The stark contrasts represent the collision where the hard edges of strength meet the gentle ripples of vulnerability, creating an area of emotional intensity in the center. The layout is divided to signify a threshold—a metaphor for exposure vs. shelter, characterized by broken pixels that symbolize imperfections in both resilience and fragility. Dominating the space are dark tones, reflecting strength, while lighter cyan hints at the delicacy of vulnerability, allowing a dynamic yet imperfect narrative of intrusions and removals within the grid.
