Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional push and pull between relief and dread. The palette contrasts muted storm gray and near black with brighter accents of faded gold and pale mint. The center showcases a collision of lighter and darker hues, mimicking the fight between lightness and heaviness. The broken pixels disrupt the flow, reflecting experiences of imperfection and chaos, while the left and right sides almost mirror, providing a sense of tension and balance, enhanced by the wave-like flow and flame-like pattern of the lighter colors that intertwine with the heavier shadows.
