Artist Statement
The artwork reflects the emotional dichotomy of nostalgia and progress, exploring how these feelings can coexist, creating a tension that oscillates between warmth and coolness. The color palette of warm yellows and oranges juxtaposed against deep blues and muted purples embodies joy and grief, respectively. The dominant contrast occurs in the center, where vibrant warmth drips and spirals into cooler spaces, suggesting movement from calmness to chaos. Broken pixel placements are employed to signify imperfection and the inevitable shifts in life, while the negative space around the central band creates an emotional depth that invites contemplation over the past and future.
