Artist Statement
The emotional tone encapsulates a struggle between quietness and pressure, represented through an uneven balance of colors. The palette of off-white, dust gray, compressed red, dark navy, and faint peach creates a contrast between gentle and forceful tones. The main collision occurs in a diagonal pattern across the grid, where the intensive color of compressed red abruptly interacts with the soft, muted fields of off-white and faint peach, echoing the tension between calmness and chaos. The arrangement plays on the concepts of symmetry and disruption, especially in light of the 'mirror_broken' layout, creating a narrative that feels both resolved and unresolved, much like the push and pull of tide against an island.
