Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional conflict between control and surrender. The color palette of ripe green, acid green, honey gold, deep olive, and cream reflects both the vibrancy of life and the weight of restraint. The layout follows a 'threshold' design, where control manifests as dense channels on one side, contrasted by a lighter spark pattern that suggests surrender. The central collision occurs at the center, where the thick surround of deep olive contrasts sharply with the lighter, more vibrant colors. This provides a visual metaphor for the struggle inherent in our feelings of pressure versus the freedom of release.
