Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional tension between panic and control by juxtaposing soft, muted colors against deeper, more chaotic tones. The selected palette of sepia, tan, dust gray, and faded blue reflects a 'broken memory' theme, evoking a sense of nostalgia intertwined with unease. The outside edges are filled with deeper tones to represent turmoil, while the center employs a mirror-like pattern, symbolizing moments of control amidst chaos. The arrangement creates a visual echo, emphasizing spaces of rest and density; thus, the viewer experiences a gradual shift from pressure to calm, giving a dynamic feel of asymmetrical motion and abrupt contrast.
